For instance, despite the assumptions of many, there is no need to go through a gel stage in making cold process soap. Gel stage is seen by some to introduce physical defects (discoloration and partial melting) into the soap while others think it improves the appearance. Essentially Soap does not dictate a method that MUST be used to give acceptable soap but rather discloses the wide variety of conditions that WILL give good soap--insulated or not.
